Ms. Cantus is a leader in recruiting board members, CEOs, and their direct reports to the Fortune 500, start-up ventures, and private equity firms within emerging technology, internet, and new media as well as the aerospace, defense & intelligence and professional services sectors.

Ms. Cantus’ experience in executive search includes opening and managing the Virginia office of two other leading global executive search firms. She has also served in senior executive project management, financial, and business development positions at Bechtel, Fiduciary Trust, Lockheed Martin, Morgan Stanley & Company, and at portfolio companies of private equity firms.

Ms. Cantus serves as General Counsel of The ILEX Group, a marketing and government relations firm serving the industrial/infrastructure, transportation, aerospace/defense, homeland security, and technology industries.

Earlier this year, Governor Robert McDonnell appointed Ms. Cantus to the Virginia Small Business Commission. This appointment follows former Governor Mark Warner’s appointment of Ms. Cantus to the Board of the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority. Ms. Cantus also serves on the National Advisory Board of the PenFed Foundation, the national not-for-profit division of the Pentagon Federal Credit Union, which benefits military personnel and their families.

Ms. Cantus holds a BA in history from Duke University, an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, and a JD from George Washington University. She is admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
