VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--()--GEICO’s Virginia Beach office is now hiring college graduates for its Supervisor Leadership Program, a fast-track management training program that develops GEICO future business and team leaders.
“Part of our success comes from our associates who are motivated to provide outstanding service to our policyholders. We are always looking for energetic, customer-focused candidates who want to be a part of our success.”
Lauren Klooster, service supervisor at GEICO, experienced her own success through the program and said, "The Supervisor Leadership Program gave me a unique opportunity to further develop skills I gathered in college while gaining and refining leadership abilities that I use in my job today. The program is a well-rounded introduction to management for recent graduates and prepares them for long-term success at GEICO."
Along with leadership skills, GEICO’s Supervisor Leadership Program requires candidates to have a bachelor’s degree in business, or significant business coursework, and an overall GPA of 3.2 or higher. Candidates for this program should have also demonstrated leadership in their academics, on-campus activities, or through a supervisory role.
Joanne Rodriguez, college recruiter for GEICO, noted that, “The program is designed to move employees through one of our operational departments, teaching them the ins and outs, and preparing them for a leadership role in supervision and beyond. It’s been very successful for our associates.”
In addition to GEICO’s Supervisor Leadership Program, the Virginia Beach office is also looking for sales and service representatives who possess effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrated job stability.
“As the largest private employer in the Virginia Beach area, we have an excellent reputation for serving the greater Hampton Roads community,” said Joe Thomas, GEICO’s regional vice president. “Part of our success comes from our associates who are motivated to provide outstanding service to our policyholders. We are always looking for energetic, customer-focused candidates who want to be a part of our success.”
GEICO offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes: health plans, paid training, tuition reimbursement, 401(k), paid vacation, sick and personal leave and excellent opportunities for advancement. In 2012, GEICO’s Virginia Beach office was named “Best Employer for Advancement and Benefits” and “Most Enjoyable Place to Work” by the Virginian-Pilot's 2012 Best of Hampton Roads.
