Barney & Barney CEO Paul Hering Wins Corporate Citizenship Award

SAN DIEGO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Paul Hering, CEO and Managing Principal of Barney & Barney, one of the nation’s largest independent insurance brokerages, has been named “Director of the Year for Corporate Citizenship” by Corporate Directors Forum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the highest standards of professionalism in corporate governance.

Hering was elected as Managing Principal and Chief Executive Officer in 2004. He has been with Barney & Barney since 1985 and has been a Principal since 1989. His community involvement includes board positions at a number of San Diego non-profit and community organizations, such as: Big Brothers & Sisters of San Diego, Rady Children’s Hospital Foundation, and the San Diego Symphony. In 2009, Hering led the effort in creating the Barney & Barney Foundation to mark the firm’s 100^th anniversary.
