SAN FRANCISCO--()--WideOrbit Inc., the leading provider of advertising management software for media companies is pleased to announce that Salem Communications has selected WO Traffic, WideOrbit’s leading sales, traffic and billing solution, for all of its 98 radio stations that span 38 U.S. markets. Salem chose to migrate from its dispersed legacy systems to a single WO Traffic system, which will allow the company to view real-time, consolidated reporting, and dynamically analyze and optimize performance across all of its stations and markets.
“Prior to WideOrbit, we had to collect reports from each individual station and it took extensive, manual data entry to provide management with a consolidated view across the company—which was never real-time”
Salem Communications is a leading U.S. radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, and magazine and book publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian and conservative opinion content. The company owns and operates approximately 98 radio stations, 61 of which are in 22 of the nation’s top 25 radio markets. Salem had been using its legacy traffic system for more than 15 years when it sought to find a traffic system that was better suited to its growing needs.
“An organization that spans such a large geography as our broadcast radio group presents many challenges for a traffic provider,” said Evan Masyr, Chief Financial Officer of Salem Communications. “We selected WideOrbit because they have a superior traffic solution that can scale to our business and deliver complete visibility and sophisticated reporting that will provide us with a more timely understanding of our performance in each region, market and station.”
WO Traffic is a scalable, enterprise-wide solution that allows radio broadcasters to manage multiple stations, markets and groups from a single system. With WO Traffic, Salem’s general managers and sales managers will be able to manage their inventory, collections and pacing toward goals with real-time reporting at the station level. Corporate executives will gain visibility across Salem’s multiple stations and markets to spot trends and revenue opportunities that will help them drive the business towards maximum efficiency and profitability. WO Traffic’s centralized system will also allow account executives to better serve their advertisers with specialized dashboards and visibility into account data, and help management enforce compliance with company policies and best practices.
“Prior to WideOrbit, we had to collect reports from each individual station and it took extensive, manual data entry to provide management with a consolidated view across the company—which was never real-time,” states Masyr. “With WO Traffic, we have immediate access to any information we need with pinpoint accuracy, from the account level on up. It takes away the guessing, makes everyone more accountable and provides greater ability at all levels to affect the bottom line.”
“We designed WO Traffic for large groups like Salem,” said Eric R. Mathewson, Founder and CEO of WideOrbit. “Using a centralized database, safeguarded by individualized security rights, Salem’s business endeavors will be coordinated, documented and analyzed with precision. WO Traffic will allow Salem’s managers and executives to make faster, more intelligent decisions that will help them maximize revenue and efficiently manage their resources.”
WideOrbit will be providing live demonstrations of WO Traffic and all of its solutions for radio at the 2012 Radio Show in booths 805 and 905 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas, September 19-21.
