CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--()--OmniGuide Inc., a medical device company specializing in precision surgical energy instruments, recently announced the launch of a next-generation product designed for laparoscopic endometriosis procedures. The instrument set offers enhanced ergonomics, access, and operative flow compared to previous CO2 laser delivery systems.
Dr. Samuel Brown, a Jones Institute graduate, director of Brown Fertility (a large leading Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Lab in Jacksonville, Florida), and physician who has performed over 5,000 laparoscopies for fertility-based surgery noted, “The CO2 laser is considered the optimal energy source for endometriosis surgery, but clinical applications were limited due to the cumbersome set-up and inadequate anatomical access associated with older technologies. OmniGuide’s device allows me to operate with the clinical advantages of CO2 laser along with the ergonomics and ease-of-use I expect from advanced laparoscopic instruments. The technology will undoubtedly change the way that endometriosis is treated today, and I am pleased that I can be one of the first to offer it to my patients.”
Scott Flora, President and CEO of OmniGuide, stated, “The launch of the new laparoscopic instrument set is a milestone on OmniGuide’s mission to becoming a leader in minimally invasive surgery. Based on the positive feedback we have received from gynecologists, I am confident that our new instrument set will allow us to establish a strong presence in endometriosis surgery.”
OmniGuide’s gynecologic surgical instruments will be featured at two upcoming conferences: American Society of Reproductive Medicine (October 20-24, San Diego, CA) and American Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopists (November 5-9. Las Vegas, NV). Conference attendees can receive a hands-on demonstration of the technology at OmniGuide’s exhibit booth.
