SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Two prominent members of Congress from California, each with unique Asian-American legacies, will lead the second annual Silicon Valley Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum on October 20, 2012 at the San Jose Convention Center. Several thousand U.S. business executives, engineers, technologists and entrepreneurs will meet with hundreds of Asian investors and leaders of companies seeking American firms as alliance partners.
“It is our genuine wish that through participation in this event, our guests will see the giant gateway we all may open with a courageous and proactive view into the future of this new generation of human civilization”
Congresswoman Judy Chu, the first Chinese American woman elected to the U.S. Congress, will serve as Chairwoman. As a member of the House Small Business Committee, her participation underscores opportunities for many small businesses to secure relationships with Chinese and other foreign investors or foreign companies seeking product marketing in the United States.
As a Japanese-American, Congressman Mike Honda, an eleven year member of the House, spent time as a youngster in Camp Amache, the Colorado based internment camp used by the U.S. during World War II. He represents the Silicon Valley and serves on the powerful House Appropriations Committee and will serve as event Chairman.
“It is our genuine wish that through participation in this event, our guests will see the giant gateway we all may open with a courageous and proactive view into the future of this new generation of human civilization,” said Iris Lei, CEO/Founder of 99people, Inc. and event host.
A day of seminars and workshops will be held exploring partnerships between Chinese and U.S. companies. A highlight will be one-on-one meetings between the Chinese investors and American small business owners looking to expand and create new jobs. Business Matchmaking, the nation’s leading non-profit small business procurement initiative, will produce the face to face sessions primarily featuring entrepreneurs relying on technology or interest in mobility solutions.
