GreeneStone Hires Gastroenterologist, Broadens Its Endoscopy Practice to Include Surgery

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--GreeneStone Healthcare Corporation (OTCBB: GRST), provider of Corporate Healthcare services and operator of several mental health clinics, announced the expansion of its Endoscopy team with the hire of Dr. Mohsina Chaklader, who will join GreeneStone’s medical team at the company's North York Endoscopy clinic. Dr. Chaklader is an Internist Gastroenterologist who is completing her Fellowship in Nutrition. Dr. Chaklader is an integral addition to GreeneStone's Endoscopy practice whose invaluable training in internal medicine and nutrition will help complete the establishment of a ‘Gastrointestinal Centre of Excellence.’

As the resident gastroenterologist at GreeneStone's Endoscopy clinics, Dr. Chaklader brings deep research experience in nutrition, gastroenterology, and internal medicine, as well as extensive volunteer experience in clinics serving the homeless, refugees and immigrants, and the inner city, and an impressive clinical teaching track record. Dr. Chaklader studied at the University of Alberta (Gastroenterology Fellowship), Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador (Internal Medicine Residency), and University of Ottawa (Doctor of Medicine). She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (F.A.C.P.) and the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (F.R.C.P.C.).

With the addition of Dr. Chaklader to the current team of nine general surgeons, CEO, Shawn Leon, commented: “We are well positioned and staffed to build a surgical suite within our North York clinic. The surgical suite will be a Level 3 Out of Hospital Premise (OHP) as described in the guidelines of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO). This surgical suite will allow the Company to perform gastric banding as a natural extension to the gastroenterology work. The surgical suite also will allow the Company to perform procedures, such as hernia operations, as well as generate fees from non-related procedures, such as plastic surgery. This suite is expected to be on line in the first quarter of 2013.

This specialization will be the foundation for building toward the company’s goal of providing services that will address the increasing problems of obesity and Type II diabetes. This will be done in conjunction with the company’s recently announced Eating Disorder Clinic in a nearby location.
