NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--()--OriginLab, developer of graphing and data analysis software, today announced that this month marks the company’s 20th anniversary. Based on two decades of industry expertise, the company’s products, Origin and OriginPro, provide powerful data analysis and graphing capabilities tailored to the needs of scientists and engineers. Designed for ease-of-use for customers at varying technical levels, Origin also provides the flexibility and robust functionality to manage complex data analysis and graphing tasks.
“OriginLab is proud to mark this momentous milestone, due in large part to the support and feedback we have received from a large number of Origin users”
Cofounded in 1992 by current CEO Dr. C.P. Yang, the company began with an instrument data analysis tool for customers of Microcal, Inc., which is now part of GE Healthcare. Dr. Yang recognized the potential for a wider audience for the software, known as Origin, which was one of the few Windows-based applications for data analysis and graphing at the time. Today, Origin and OriginPro are used by more than 150,000 customers worldwide, spanning Fortune 500 companies, research institutions, and colleges and universities. Users of the products belong to various disciplines including physics, chemistry, biology, pharmacology, engineering, and manufacturing.
"OriginLab is proud to mark this momentous milestone, due in large part to the support and feedback we have received from a large number of Origin users," said Dr. Yang. "As a company, we strive to meet our users’ demands for powerful yet easy-to-use tools for data analysis and publication-quality graphing. We look forward to another 20 years and the exciting developments in computer technology that are just around the corner."
OriginLab is planning its next major release of Origin and OriginPro this fall, version 9.0, which will include new graphics functionality based on OpenGL. For more information, visit www.originlab.com, or join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn.
