Apartment Guide Announces 2012 Your Picks Your Place Sweepstakes Winner

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Wichita, Kan. resident Christie K. is the $10,000 grand prize winner of the “Your Picks. Your Place. Sweepstakes,” it was announced today by Apartment Guide, a leading resource for apartments for rent nationwide.

The sweepstakes, active during the 2012 summer moving season from June 20 through August 14, was designed to engage consumers and demonstrate multiple decorating style possibilities. Apartment Guide partnered with Kim Myles, former winner of HGTV’s “Design Star,” and four design and decor bloggers who created featured designs in numerous themes that celebrated home decorating creativity and individuality.

Design content on the sweepstakes website, http://www.YourPicksYourPlace.com, changed every two weeks during the promotion. Eligible participants had the chance to vote once daily on their preferred room design and be entered for a chance to win the $10,000 grand prize or one of eight $250 weekly prizes. More than 175,000 entries were received during the eight-week promotion, which represents an increase of more than 7.4 percent compared to the number received during the 2011 sweepstakes. Year-over-year site visits grew by 20.5 percent, unique voters by 13 percent and unique visitors by 18.7 percent. Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and Pinterest exposure generated more than 35 million impressions and blog posts generated more than 11.7 million impressions with 42,578 comments.
