PROVO, Utah--()--Funium today announced the appointment of Eric Gonzalez to Director of Product Monetization. Gonzalez will lead the team responsible for monetizing Family Village, Funium’s free family history Facebook game.
“Eric’s track record as a mobile and web monetization executive speaks for itself”
As director of product monetization, Gonzalez brings more than a decade of growth-stage company experience across multiple continents in various executive, game development and business development positions. Gonzalez was most recently Vice President of Product and Network Development at Volume11 Media, where he led the company’s network development team in the U.S. and the Philippines, and spearheaded gaming ecosystem development. While at Volume11 Media, he oversaw partnerships with some of the web’s most popular game titles, including Gaia Online, Ourworld and Brickforce.
“Eric’s track record as a mobile and web monetization executive speaks for itself,” said Jeff Wells, CEO of Funium. “We are thrilled to gain from his prowess in game and business development. His international expertise will prove especially beneficial to Funium as we continue to penetrate overseas markets.”
Gonzalez co-founded Doubloon in 2010, a virtual goods platform company, where he provided monetization strategies for numerous browser-based and mobile device titles, including Red Crucible, which peaked as the top free-to-play game on the App Store. Gonzalez also helped drive revenue early at NetSuite and managed international development of Latin America for the company.
“Funium exactly fits that bill,” said Gonzalez. “I look forward to leading the monetization efforts there. Funium’s ability to bridge the real and virtual worlds in their games makes it primed for monetization.”
Gonzalez has a Master’s in business administration with an accounting focus from the University of Texas, Austin.
