OAKLAND, Calif.--()--Strong rents and robust apartment building sales in the East Bay’s Alameda and Contra Costa counties provide the upbeat backdrop for the 6th Annual Trade Expo of East Bay Rental Housing Association (East Bay RHA) on Sat., Sept. 29, 2012. The event, free to the public, will be held at the Oakland Convention Center at the Marriott Hotel, 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. It is the premier Northern California event for the rental property industry.

“Our organization’s overarching goal is to help landlords and property managers get it right,” said Tina Bocheff, Expo co-chair. “The majority of our members are ‘mom and pop’ operators, with buildings under four units, and we provide services to help them run their rental businesses fairly and efficiently. Throughout the year we offer in-depth classes for new and experienced owners, legal forms and operational notices, and one-on-one property management advice to help landlords abide by fair housing laws and local ordinances.”
“At this year’s Trade Expo, dozens of industry professionals and experts will provide education and information on a wide range of specific topics useful for landlords and property managers,” said Bocheff.

Entrepreneur, educator and business turnaround consultant Michael C. Bush, founder of The 8 Factors, an Oakland-based consulting firm, will be the keynote speaker, advising the audience, “Let’s Run Our Businesses, Not the Other Way Around.”
Cora Sue Anthony of HGTV’s Real Estate Intervention will offer Expo guests staging tips and techniques that make their properties stand out from the crowd for selling or renting them.
Workshops and Vendors
Workshops include such topics as “Economic and Election Forecast,” “Maximizing Revenue Through Zero Vacancies,” “Buying Residential Rental Property: How to Pick a Winning Investment,” “Rent Control: Policy & Purpose,” and “Review of the Grand Jury Report on the Berkeley Rent Board.”
