SAN FRANCISCO--()--Business Wire today announced that Ranzo Taylor has been promoted to vice president, global data operations.
“Ranzo is the 007 of our Database and Web systems team”
In his new position, Taylor takes a leading role in overall software and hardware architectural decisions as well as promoting agile software methodologies. “Ranzo is the 007 of our Database and Web systems team,” said Steve Messick, chief information officer. “Cool, calm, intelligent, and deadly when it comes to identifying and killing problems quickly and silently. You never know when he strikes – our systems just keep on running 100% every day.”
Taylor joined the company in 2003 as a database manager. In that role he made improvements to Business Wire’s database operating environment by implementing advanced monitoring and alarm systems as well as overhauling the disaster recovery technology. Additionally, Taylor created a new performance and reliability support department for the varied web-based server systems at Business Wire.
Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He currently lives in Berkeley, Calif., with his family. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, hiking, taking long strolls and spending time with his children.
