WASHINGTON--()--The Union of Unemployed (UCubed) announces the achievement of a commendable milestone reached in its BEE MAD @ THE GOP campaign – a revolutionary social media campaign to increase voter turnout in November. UCubed swept past the one million views mark in videos delivered directly to its Facebook fans and their friends.
“This is an incredible and unbelievable accomplishment for a GOTV effort never been done before”
“This is an incredible and unbelievable accomplishment for a GOTV effort never been done before,” said UCubed Executive Director Rick Sloan. “Unlike traditional GOTV campaigns consisting of door-to-door canvassing and phone banking, BEE MAD @ THE GOP encourages jobless voters to use micro-videos uploaded to its Facebook page as a campaigning tool. These UCubed videos explain why worker bees should BEE MAD @ THE GOP, urge them to swarm to the polls and then work together to hand the GOP a stinging defeat in November.”
“Our target audience are the 122,000 jobless Americans who have ‘liked’ the UCubed Facebook page and, equally important, their 32.4 million friends,” explains Sloan. “Our original goal was to reach 12 million ‘friends of fans’ during the last three weeks of the campaign. And UCubed will meet that objective.
“Each time a UCubed fan likes or shares a BEE MAD @ THE GOP video, it appears, on average, on 265 additional Facebook pages. And those are personal endorsements of our extremely partisan messaging.”
