VIENNA, Va.--()--Michael Saylor, MIT graduate, best-selling author and technology entrepreneur, has just been announced as a keynote for the Government Information and Analytics Summit (GIAS), while an esteemed panel from the CIO Council – including Adrian Gardner, CIO of Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA and Simon Szykman, CIO of the Department of Commerce – as well as David M. Wennergren, Department of Defense (DoD) Assistant Deputy Chief Management Officer, will keynote the 10th Annual Enterprise Architecture (EA) Conference. These events are being co-located at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC and will take place November 28-29, 2012.
“Michael Saylor’s engaging style and extensive expertise will provide attendees an animated look into the future of mobility and suggest how it will transform the world around us”
Michael Saylor has received critical acclaim from Time, Newsweek, The New Yorker, USA Today and The Washington Post and will be sharing insights from his recently released book, The Mobile Wave. The Mobile Wave takes an in-depth analysis into current mobile platforms, and suggests the natural development of a universal computing platform in the future. At GIAS, Saylor will also discuss how the development of mobile intelligence will redefine the lives of people around the world.
“Michael Saylor’s engaging style and extensive expertise will provide attendees an animated look into the future of mobility and suggest how it will transform the world around us,” said Daniel McKinnon, Vice President, Government Events, 1105 Media, Inc. “We are excited to have Michael participate and believe he is the perfect addition to round out our established program, giving attendees true added value.”
As members of the CIO Council’s Strategy and Planning Committee, Adrian Gardner and Simon Szykman will headline the EA Conference by participating on a keynote panel titled “The Common Approach to FEA: Transforming Service Delivery, Functional Integration, Resource Optimization and Authoritative Reference.” This panel will focus on integration points, federal data assets, reference models and other governance areas including strategic planning, capital planning, program management, human capital management and cyber security.
Serving as the EA Conference’s opening keynote, Mr. Wennergren is the principal deputy to the DoD Deputy Chief Management Officer and champions the Department’s efforts to better synchronize, integrate, coordinate and improve DoD business operations. His efforts focus on achieving greater effectiveness, increased efficiency and improved performance in the DoD’s enterprise policies, processes and systems.
“As agency budget cuts continue to impact federal programs, enterprise architects now, more than ever, need to create the basis for a more agile, smarter government,” said McKinnon. “In keeping with this requirement, the CIO Council Strategy and Planning Committee panel, along with Mr. Wennergren’s presentation, will guide our attendees on how to deliver the four primary outcomes enabled by the most common approaches to federal EA.”
Conference attendees from either event are welcome to attend the keynote sessions. To register as media for GIAS and/or the EA Conference, please contact Kristin Graybill at kristin@connellyworks.com.
