PERTH, Australia--()--Amcom Software’s Australian division today announced the launch of its Amcom Messenger clinical alerting middleware at St. Vincent’s Melbourne, covering the Fitzroy, Caritas Christi, and St. George campuses. The solution is being used to distribute critical messages from nurse call systems and fire panels directly to staff to improve efficiency and safety. The hospital selected Amcom Messenger to replace its legacy paging system and better communicate with staff across more than 600 DECT phones and other mobile devices.
“We’re pleased Amcom Messenger has already begun to make an impact at St. Vincent’s Melbourne”
Amcom Messenger’s clinical workflow capabilities will help the organisation centralise system alerts and patient inquiries, routing them to the right on-duty staff member on his or her mobile device. This speeds response to these notifications, improving staff efficiency as well as patient care and safety. Further work is planned to incorporate the hospital’s patient monitoring systems in the near future.
“We’re pleased Amcom Messenger has already begun to make an impact at St. Vincent’s Melbourne,” said John Jordan, General Manager, Amcom Software - Asia-Pacific. “Sending time-sensitive alerts to the personnel who can act on them eliminates guesswork and wasted time, which is essential to support busy hospital staff.”
