NAPLES, Fla.--(Fischer International Identity, LLC, the leader in cloud-based identity management, announced today that Harvey Mudd College has successfully moved into production the Fischer Identity as a Service® (IaaS®) cloud for federated SSO and password management. Fischer IaaS® cloud reduces login time and helpdesk calls for the College’s students, faculty and staff.)--
“Fischer did a great job in taking the lead to work with our SaaS payroll vendor to integrate cloud applications into the overall identity management solution.”
According to Joseph Vaughan, Chief Information Officer and Director of Computing and Information Services at Harvey Mudd College, “Fischer’s password reset and federated SSO are big wins for our end users as each user already saves several minutes per day. This will also help our audits since we can now enforce password policies and easily prove it to auditors. We are impressed with Fischer’s responsiveness and creativity in addressing higher-education requirements, including their Student FTE pricing. We chose Fischer Identity as a Service® cloud because the speed of bringing up the solution is much faster than it is for on-premise, and we didn’t need to hire new people or dedicate a lot of local staff time to manage a new solution.”
Fischer’s user lifecycle management and the flexibility of workflows to provision and deprovision people at the right time, from a student’s application through alumnus, is essential to higher education and will simplify the College’s provisioning process. “It’s important to us to have a vendor like Fischer with a clear set of processes and an organized project approach,” adds Mitch Shacklette, Harvey Mudd College’s Director of Systems and Networking. “Fischer did a great job in taking the lead to work with our SaaS payroll vendor to integrate cloud applications into the overall identity management solution.” The next phase of implementation will streamline and automate the processes for provisioning and privileged access management. The College also plans to federate more applications so that users can simply login to the network and have access to needed applications.
