ATLANTA--()--Stonesoft today announced it will host its first annual Cyber Security Summit in coordination with T.E.N. at the W Hotel in New York City on October 24, 2012. The goal of the Summit is to expose the truth about what is really happening on both the offensive and defensive sides of the growing cyber arms race.
“Within the next couple of years, the world will experience more intentionally executed and demonstrated cyber-attacks”
Dr. Jarno Limnell, director of cyber security at Stonesoft will kick off the Summit with a keynote entitled, “Cyber Wars – Coming to Your Organization Sooner than You Think.”
“Within the next couple of years, the world will experience more intentionally executed and demonstrated cyber-attacks,” says Limnell. “The development of offensive cyber weapons will become fiercer and publicly more acceptable. Defense, resilience and offense make up the components required for a company or country to protect itself. You need them all.”
The goal of the Summit is to help executives responsible for their company’s information security to be aware of the growing global threats presented by cyber attackers. Questions to be addressed include: What happens when these types of sophisticated tools become available for sale in the malware marketplace? Who should be held accountable when a government sponsored espionage tool is repurposed for criminal activity? What can organizations do to protect their own networks?
In addition to the keynote, executive roundtable discussions will be moderated by industry thought leaders including: Vas Rajan, chief information security officer, ING Direct; David Ritenour, chief information security officer, SunGard Financial Corporation; John Shepard, head of security architecture, CIGNA; and John Masserini, chief security officer, Miami Holdings, Inc.
Topics include:
- Distributed Denial of Service Attacks – Holding Your Own Against the Attacker
- Real World IT Infrastructure Testing – The Art of Field Testing
- Next Generation Security and Beyond – Changing the Game of Network Security
- Vulnerability Management – Validating Real Risk, Providing Peace of Mind
