Advanced Academics Administrator Wins AdvancED Oklahoma Excellence in Education Award

OKLAHOMA CITY--()--Elizabeth Britt, an assistant principal at online learning provider Advanced Academics in Oklahoma City, has been awarded the 2012 Excellence in Education award by AdvancED® Oklahoma. AdvancED is a global organization that oversees three accrediting agencies responsible for accrediting 30,000 educational institutions in more than 70 countries worldwide. Britt receives the award for her professional accomplishments and her work with the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), one of AdvancED’s affiliated accrediting bodies.

“We congratulate her on receiving this award and are proud to have her on the Advanced Academics team.”

“On behalf of AdvancED, I would like to congratulate Elizabeth on receiving our Oklahoma Excellence in Education Award for 2011-12,” said Daniel Craig, director of AdvancED Oklahoma. “Elizabeth is a passionate advocate for the promotion and advancement of excellence in education in the state of Oklahoma and across the nation, as evidenced by both her professional career and her extensive work with NCA CASI and AdvancED.”

An AdvancED volunteer since 2009, Britt has served as the accreditation team chair for schools throughout Oklahoma, including those in the Edmond, Putnam City and Claremore public school districts. In this role, she is responsible for managing overall team logistics, overseeing the on-site visit and producing a publishable report that is used as the basis for the accreditation decision.

“Elizabeth is an outstanding educator who is dedicated to helping Oklahoma schools provide a quality education to our state’s students. Her leadership and dedication to continuous improvement have been apparent in every accreditation team on which she has served,” said Roberta McKerlie, Advanced Academics director of curriculum and instruction. “We congratulate her on receiving this award and are proud to have her on the Advanced Academics team.”

Britt taught in the public school system for seven years before joining Advanced Academics as an online English teacher for grades 6-12 in 2007. She has served as an assistant principal for the online educator since 2010.
