FTIS is an ultrasonic inspection technology that performs rapid, automated fired heater coil inspection in refineries and chemical plants. The animation illustrates the inspection process as FTIS inspects the coils in a refinery fired heater and features the tool’s capabilities in a real-world setting. The viewer follows the FTIS tool through the convection and radiant sections of the refinery fired heater, and watches the tool encounter areas of internal and external corrosion, creep strain damage and a section of coil with a different thickness. Each of these anomalies is illustrated in the inspection report in 2D and 3D formats utilizing Quest Integrity Group’s LifeQuest Heater software.
