HOUSTON--()--On Friday, October 19, 2012 at River Oaks Country Club, The Blue Bird Circle, Houston’s oldest charitable organization, will honor Mark A. Wallace, President and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Children’s Hospital. For more than two decades, Mr. Wallace has faithfully overseen remarkable breakthroughs in pediatric care, while leading the largest children’s hospital in the nation and treating millions of children annually. This year’s Gala theme, “Mark of Excellence”, will recognize Wallace’s lifetime of service to the Houston community and his dedication to healing sick children.
Mark’s visionary leadership has helped earn Texas Children’s Hospital accolades as one of the most respected hospitals in the nation, with unprecedented commitment to excellence in pediatric care and world-renowned research. This vision is shared by the women of The Blue Bird Circle in our ongoing pledge to The Blue Bird Circle Clinic for Pediatric Neurology, The Blue Bird Circle Clinical Research Center at Texas Children’s Hospital, The Blue Bird Circle Rett Center and The Blue Bird Circle Developmental Neurogenetics Laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine, and our commitment to help in the development of more effective treatments, and ultimately cures, for pediatric neurological diseases.
The Blue Bird Circle Gala is the organization’s principal annual fundraiser and welcomes the gracious financial support of all those who wish to individually contribute or become an underwriter of the 2012 Blue Bird Circle Gala. All financial contributions will have a direct impact on the lives of children affected by neurological disorders and the treatments and cures of tomorrow. Please contact our event coordinator, Ann Chai Dick, with any questions you might have regarding underwriting; 832-673-0860 or gala@thebluebirdcircle.org.
Established in 1923 and celebrating 90 years of continuous community service, The Blue Bird Circle volunteers provide more than 100,000 hours of service each year to The Blue Bird Circle Clinic for Pediatric Neurology at Texas Children's Hospital, The Blue Bird Circle Resale Shop, and other fund-raising activities.
