ALPHARETTA, Ga.--()--LeasePlan Luxembourg and Avis have partnered to launch an innovative car-sharing solution, representing an unprecedented step in vehicle and fleet management.
“By providing flexible solutions such as electric car-sharing and encouraging alternative means of transport, including city buses and soft mobility, we’re going a step further in our commitment to reduce our carbon emissions as a responsible leader”
Car sharing is an increasingly popular transportation model that allows drivers to access vehicles on an as-needed basis. With transportation accounting for roughly 70% of the carbon footprint of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Luxembourg, this initiative is a first step in the firm’s global approach to reduce its transportation-related carbon emissions.
The program will initially be implemented within PwC Luxembourg and will provide all 2500 employees access to a fleet of electric and low-emission vehicles for car-sharing through an online booking system. These vehicles will be available for daily business use and for all mobility needs of the program’s participants.
“By providing flexible solutions such as electric car-sharing and encouraging alternative means of transport, including city buses and soft mobility, we’re going a step further in our commitment to reduce our carbon emissions as a responsible leader,” said Patrice Waltzing, partner at PwC in charge of managing the PwC's car fleet.
LeasePlan has once again taken an innovative approach when it comes to serving its clients. “We are pleased to team up with Avis to be able to provide a different type of fleet service to clients such as PwC. With today’s challenging economic situation, this car-sharing plan allows many businesses the opportunity to meet their business transportation and mobility needs in an efficient and environmentally-friendly way,” said Vahid Daemi, CEO of LeasePlan Corporation.
As specialists in short-term rental solutions, Avis will manage the bookings, access to the cars, and the follow-up service to ensure they remain in proper condition via its “Avis on Demand” solution. The new car sharing solution starts in Luxembourg but may eventually extend to other parts of Europe.
