DASAN Wins New FTTP Business with New Knoxville Telephone

New Knoxville Telephone awards DASAN their FTTP business based on DASAN’s global leadership in access equipment and ability to meet key service requirements

SUWANEE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DASAN Networks, Inc., a global leader in delivering carrier-grade network and customer access solutions for high-speed data, voice, video, and wireless services over FTTP (Fiber-to-the-Premise) networks announces that DASAN has been selected to provide GPON FTTH access equipment to New Knoxville Telephone, located in New Knoxville, Ohio. DASAN, a global leader in FTTP solutions has more than six million ONTs installed worldwide.

New Knoxville Telephone, also known as NKTelco provides cutting-edge broadband services to residential and business customers. In addition to residential voice, data, and IPTV triple play services, NKTelco offers a variety of business-centric broadband services to its residents in central Ohio. NKTelco is deploying GPON for their FTTH network to serve both its residential and business customers. One of the key challenges in supporting business customers is having support for multiple Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) on a single port. After evaluating a variety of GPON solutions, NKTelco found that DASAN’s GPON solutions with their full Layer 3 switching, offered not only the multiple VPN requirements it needed, but a number of other value-adding advanced features for business services.

DASAN will deliver its V5812G compact-OLT to NKTelco to their cabinet spaces, while the V8240 high density chassis with 40 GPON ports is being deployed in their central office. NKTelco uses the H690 series outdoor and the H640 service indoor ONTs. In addition to SFU ONTs, DASAN also offers enterprise-class, Layer 2 Ethernet switches with GPON uplinks along with an extended temperature MDU ONT, the V1916G, offering triple-play services for both residential and small business needs.
