SAN FRANCISCO--()--The Security Innovation Network™ (SINET), an organization focused on the advancement of cybersecurity innovation through public-private collaboration, today announced the 2012 SINET 16 Innovators who will present at the SINET Showcase on October 25, 2012 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. The SINET Showcase is supported by the Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate and was created to identify and display innovative and potentially disruptive cybersecurity technologies in front of an audience of buyers and influencers from the investment, research, commercial, civilian, defense and intelligence communities.
Eighty emerging technology companies applied and were carefully vetted in a two-stage process by the SINET Showcase Steering Committee comprised of 40 leaders from the government, industry, investment and academic communities. The committee worked with Federal Agencies and private industry to identify their most critical needs and requirements, criteria that were used to help evaluate applicants.
The SINET 16 Innovators represent a broad range of geographies: from MA, VA, GA, NH and FL to UT, CA as well as other countries including Canada, Israel, Norway, Spain and the United Kingdom. These entrepreneurs are driving the next wave of technological advancements in areas such as big data and security intelligence, mobile security, virtualization, malware detection, encryption, data integrity and forensics.
