CENTENNIAL, Colo.--()--On Sunday, September 30, Tony's Market will hold its 3rd Annual Tony's-to-Tony's Bike Ride. This event raised $4,500 last year and is estimated to bring in over $5,000 this year, with the proceeds going to Project Recycle, who has been refurbishing used bikes and distributing them to needy kids in Denver. A few sponsors of the event include The Wellness Bridge, Kaiser Permanente, Bicycle Village, Closet Factory and Colorado Heartcycle.
“This has become a signature event for us”
The bike ride is a 71-mile bicycle tour stopping at all four Tony’s Market locations, with an assortment of Tony’s culinary specialties at each stop and an Italian luncheon at the finish. Over 250 cyclists and Tony’s enthusiasts have signed up. “This has become a signature event for us,” said Tony Rosacci, founder of Tony’s Market. Mr. Rosacci went on to say, “It is such a feel-good way to enjoy the great Colorado outdoors, sample some delicious food and give back to the community."
In addition to raising funds, Tony's is participating in a used-bike drive. Over 46 bicycles have been donated this year so far. Last year, 100 bicycles were gathered from the community, refurbished and distributed to deserving children with brand new helmets and bike locks. For some of these kids, this was their very first bicycle. Tony's is encouraging its customers and the public to bring their used bicycles to any Tony’s Market location.
Project Recycle will provide tax receipts upon request. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Lynnea Louison, Director of Human Resources, Tony’s Market, 720.581.3738, Lynnea@TonysMarket.com.
