CHICAGO--()--Farsite Group, a data science firm specializing in the retail industry, announced today that two of its executives will share case studies on how to transform consumer data generated by mobile and social applications into business intelligence as part of a panel discussion next week during the International Council of Shopping Center's (ICSC) 2012 Research Connections Conference in Chicago.
“Using Mobile Technologies for Real Estate Research”
On Monday, Oct. 1, panelists from Farsite Group, Nordstrom, Forest City Enterprises and Path Intelligence will present "Using Mobile Technologies for Real Estate Research," which will show attendees strategies to apply big data from consumer online engagement to improve brick-and-mortar site selection decisions, in-store sales and competitive advantage.
Michael Gold, chief operating officer, and Ryan McClarren, chief science officer, of Farsite Group will partner with Phil Shryock, director of real estate research for Nordstrom, to share new insights from the retailer's 2011 selling year during the panel session. Farsite will present findings on the relationship between in-store sales and website traffic, Facebook interactions, and foursquare check-ins. Farsite will present methods to use powerful statistical modeling to leverage data from customer behavior patterns online and on mobile phones to provide location-based insights for retailers.
The panelists will not only educate attendees on applying mobile and social data to site location analysis, market research and shopping patterns, but on challenges and privacy aspects of using these highly personalized technologies.
The session will take place at 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. Visit www.icsc.org/2012rc for more information.
