Flare Industries Announces New Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Flare Industries, LLC (Flare) today announced the appointment of Ben Smith as vice president and chief financial officer, a new position at the company. Flare is an industry leader in design, manufacturing and installation of vapor recovery, combustion, and pollution-control technologies service and equipment.

Smith has 15 years of experience in energy finance, and most recently was an independent consultant specializing in financial and strategic advisory assignments for a variety of energy industry clients.

From 2004 until 2011, Smith was a senior investment professional working in Houston and London for a global energy-focused private equity firm with more than $4 billion under management. Prior to 2004, he worked with two energy industry companies, and was focused on managing and investing in a variety of energy-asset classes. Smith began his career with a leading worldwide investment bank.
