CAROL STREAM, Ill.--()--Good analysts are a great service to the M2M (machine-to-machine) industry. The problem is, how do you spot them? Today, Connected World magazine announces Augural Analysts, a first-annual spotlight on four of the top industry analysts serving the M2M and connected-devices space.
“In the financial-services sector, exemplary analysts are known as ‘Axes,’”
In some cases, the analyst community exhibits overconfidence in its market predictions, and there is often too-little accountability for overreaching market projections, which can ultimately do an industry more harm than good. However, this is all the more reason to recognize those who have exhibited rare insight into M2M, demonstrated an uncanny ability to identify trends, and maybe even influenced the direction of the industry itself.
“In the financial-services sector, exemplary analysts are known as ‘Axes,’” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Connected World magazine. “In the M2M sector, no equivalent term existed—until now. Connected World is proud to announce its four ‘Augural Analysts’ who will continue to serve the industry well in 2013 and beyond.”
Connected World has studied the marketplace and identified four individuals as part of its collection of 2013 Augural Analysts. These individuals evaluate buying trends, briefings, and existing research, and conduct interviews on which to base market-growth numbers. Each analyst can be counted on to guide the industry forward.
The 2013 Augural Analysts are:
Glenn Allmendinger, CEO and president, Harbor Research
Robin Duke-Woolley, founder and CEO, Beecham Research Ltd.
Sam Lucero, senior principal analyst, IHS
Chris Rezendes, president, INEX Advisors
“The analysts who are the best at what they do go about their work with vigor and conviction, making projections based on solid information and an analysis of historic trends,” says Mike Carrozzo, chief editor, Connected World magazine. “Connected World’s first Augural Analyst ranking recognizes four individuals who we believe exemplify these traits.”
Profiles on each Augural Analyst will be included as part of Connected World’s 2013 Sourcebook, the definitive reference guide to M2M technology.
Also in the Sourcebook, Connected World magazine has selected seven analyst firms the editors believe provide the research reports for the M2M space that are certainly noteworthy and are market drivers. These firms are ABI Research, Analysys Mason, Beecham Research, Berg Insight, Harbor Research, ON World, and Strategy Analytics.
