Chris Bao Joins Barney & Barney in Orange County

Firm Continues To Expand To Meet Growing Demand From Clients

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Barney & Barney, one of the nation’s largest independent insurance brokerages, today announced that Christopher Bao has been named Compliance Manager in the firm’s Orange County Office.

Bao, who has seven years of legal and compliance experience, works with Barney & Barney clients in California to ensure compliance with increasingly complex state and federal regulations governing employee benefit programs. Bao is part of the firm’s compliance team, headed by Lisa Nelson, Director of Compliance & Regulatory Affairs. Serving as an in-house value-added resource for clients, the team offers personalized compliance audits and has developed a Health Care Reform modeling tool to forecast individual employer health care spending through 2018.

Bao joined Barney & Barney from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community in Arizona as a staff attorney. Prior to that, he was an attorney at the law firm of Owens & Perkins in Scottsdale. Earlier in his career, he was an attorney at the law firm of Donaldson Stewart in Chandler. Bao earned a Bachelor of Science degree in American Political Studies from the Northern Arizona University and a juris doctorate from Arizona State University.
