Huron Consulting Group Bolsters Huron Healthcare with the Addition of Two Managing Directors

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that Jo Ann Rooney and Robert Mills have joined the Company as managing directors in its Huron Healthcare practice.

Rooney joins Huron Healthcare from the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) where she served as Acting Under Secretary of Defense and Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. This position serves as a senior advisor to the Secretary of Defense on a broad portfolio encompassing recruitment, career development, and pay and benefits for 1.4 million active duty military personnel, 1.3 million Guard and Reserve personnel, and 680,000 DOD civilians. Her role at the DOD also had oversight for the overall state of military readiness, the Military Health System with a $50 billion annual budget, and a worldwide network of 59 military hospitals and 360 health clinics. Rooney has more than 25 years of experience working with healthcare and higher education institutions on a broad range of issues. At Huron Healthcare, she will assist organizations in developing plans for long-term financial success to help them achieve their missions.

Mills has more than 30 years of executive leadership and consulting experience with hospitals and healthcare organizations. Most recently, he served as ACS/Xerox‘s National Practice Leader, overseeing the business development efforts in public hospitals. He has worked with institutions to improve performance by aligning organizational capabilities with operational and clinical strategies, as well as designing innovative revenue cycle, information technology outsource services, ERP and system selection processes. At Huron Healthcare, Mills will work with healthcare organizations to improve performance, reduce costs and streamline operations.
