Kean University’s Homecoming Promises a Fun ‘Fiesta’ for Alumni and Their Families

UNION, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kean University alumni and their families are warmly invited back to campus during the week of October 1 for the annual Homecoming celebration. The university has planned a smorgasbord of “Fiesta”-themed activities for all ages, culminating in the festive weekend of October 5–7, 2012 which will feature great food, athletic events, carnival games, cultural arts events, and more.

Starting on Tuesday, October 2, alumni are welcome to come cheer on Kean’s athletic teams at their home games during the week. On October 2, the women’s volleyball team plays against Ramapo at 7 p.m.; and on Wednesday, October 3, the women’s tennis team takes on William Paterson at 4 p.m.

The weekend festivities start on Friday, October 5, when students hold a pep rally at 6 p.m. Then at 8 p.m., the All-Greek Alumni Reunion begins, bringing together returning fraternity and sorority members for a special reception sponsored by the Kean University Alumni Association. 10:30 a.m.	Trolley Tours of the Campus—10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12 noon
11:00 a.m.	Tailgate—Best theme prizes—Harwood Arena Parking Lot
11:00–12:30 p.m.	Street Fair—Visitors’ Circle Parking Lot
1:00 p.m.	Football Game vs. Western Connecticut State University
4:00-6:00 p.m.	The Karl and Helen Burger Gallery (in the Maxine and Jack Lane Center for Academic Success) and Nancy Dryfoos Gallery (in the Kean Library) are open
4:00–6:00 p.m.	Alumni Post-Game Party at Suspenders (1131 Magie Ave., Union; register at the Alumni Association Welcome Tent)

On Sunday, October 7, alumni who played men’s lacrosse will hold a reunion barbecue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the East Campus. Also on Sunday, the University community will participate in the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” at the Harwood Arena and Alumni Stadium (register at www.RelayForLife.org/KeanNJ).
