SAN DIEGO--()--U.S. businesses, government entities and critical infrastructure remain exposed to cyber security threats that continue to increase in frequency and sophistication.
“We have been fortunate because some of the industry’s most respected and knowledgeable authorities were willing to participate and share their knowledge as part of a nationwide effort to recognize Cyber Security Awareness Month.”
To assist senior management and security executives charged with protecting information and physical assets, Norman AS, the global leader in threat discovery, malware forensics and analysis, and industrial control system protection solutions, is launching a video series that will feature many of the security industry’s most respected thought leaders. The series is titled, “Inside Network Security: Cybercrime, Malware and Today's Emerging Threats.”
The series will be hosted by Darin Andersen, General Manager, North America for Norman AS. Norman will release one video per week on subjects including strategies for protecting critical infrastructure; the responsibility of government, senior management and corporate Board members in that protection; as well as new challenges and trends in enterprise and government malware detection and prevention.
“Recognizing the importance of both raising awareness and offering concrete solutions to today’s cyber security threats, Norman is sponsoring this video series to offer decision makers new information that quantifies today’s threats as well as assists with developing solid strategies to mitigate these breaches,” said Andersen. “We have been fortunate because some of the industry’s most respected and knowledgeable authorities were willing to participate and share their knowledge as part of a nationwide effort to recognize Cyber Security Awareness Month.
America’s business leaders recognize the scope of today’s threat. In a Norman survey conducted earlier this year, 65 percent of respondents stated they expect the frequency of cyber attacks to increase 25 percent or more this year. The potential for catastrophic loss of life and significant damage from breaches to information and industrial control systems continues to grow. Among the experts participating in Norman’s video series include:
- Jessie Knight, Chairman and CEO, San Diego Gas & Electric
- Ron Plesco, President and CEO, National Cyber Forensic Training Alliance
- Joe Weiss, Managing Partner, Applied Control Solutions, former IT Manager at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
