MOM Brands Partners with Whole Foods Market to Help Alleviate Poverty

Minnesota-based cereal manufacturer will donate portion of Three Sisters’ October sales to Whole Planet Foundation

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MOM Brands^® announced that it is partnering with Whole Foods Market^® to support Whole Planet Foundation^® during the month of October at the grocer’s stores across the country.

For every purchase of Three Sisters^® 27.5 oz. Sweet Wheat^® cereal at Whole Foods Market stores in October, MOM Brands will donate $1 to Whole Planet Foundation, with a goal of giving $30,000. In 2005, natural and organic retailer Whole Foods Market established Whole Planet Foundation as an expansion of its mission to be an active participant in the global community. The nonprofit provides grants to microfinance institutions in poor communities where the grocer sources products. MOM Brands’ contribution will help directly fund the Foundation’s mission to provide poor entrepreneurs in developing countries with a chance to lift themselves out of poverty through microlending programs.

Three Sisters has been a supplier partner to Whole Foods Market since 2008 and includes 10 delicious ready-to-eat varieties, as well as six hot oatmeal options. All Three Sisters varieties are free of artificial flavors and preservatives, and many varieties also carry the 100% Whole Grains stamp from the Whole Grains Council.
