Pike Announces Leadership Transition

John Thompson President UC Synergetic to Assume Role as President Pike Energy Solutions

MT. AIRY, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pike Electric Corporation (NYSE: PIKE), one of the nation’s largest providers of energy solutions, today announced that John Thompson, PE, will assume the role of President of Pike Energy Solutions. Mr. Thompson will also continue as President UC Synergetic, which was acquired by Pike Electric Corporation in July. Mr. Thompson joined UC Synergetic in 2002 and served as the company’s Senior Vice President Energy Delivery. He was instrumental in the development of new capabilities, including engineering consulting and storm response. Mr. Thompson has held leadership positions in the distribution, transmission and substation divisions at both investor-owned and cooperative utilities, including South Carolina Electric & Gas, New Horizon Electric Cooperative and Progress Energy. Mr. Thompson graduated with a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from the Citadel and is a registered Professional Engineer.
