MtronPTI Introduces IEEE-1588 and ITU-T G.8263 Timing Solutions for Packet Switched Networks

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MtronPTI, world leader in custom frequency control and filter products, announced the XO5x84-1588-R series OCXO (oven controlled oscillator), specifically developed to support Internet Communications Technology (ICT) market applications requiring packet switch timing with IEEE-1588 or ITU-T G.8263 standards.

As 4G / LTE smart phone and tablet Internet activity increase, wireless data bandwidth needs continue to rise dramatically. The ICT industry is responding by switching from mixed voice and data delivered over older methods (ex.: T1/E1) to a merged, data only system using Carrier Ethernet with synchronized packet timing.

MtronPTI’s XO5x84-1588-R Series OCXO is specifically designed and certified to support IEEE 1588v2 Stratum 3E of GR-1244-Core, GR-253-Core and ITU-T G.812 Type III Clock packet-based requirements.
