CLEVELAND--()--After reviewing more than 320 nominations from elementary schools in 43 states, five finalists have been selected to vie for a complete school makeover from Glidden® paint. The “Colorful Classrooms Contest” involves a nationwide search for the one elementary school in the most need of a complete makeover for its classrooms.
“That’s where we can help. We want to find the one elementary school in most need of a complete makeover and help add color to the school and the lives of its students.”
The following schools will now compete for the most online public votes now through October 26 on Glidden.com:
Franklin Elementary School
Jefferson Elementary School
Monte Vista Elementary School
Saltillo Elementary School
The Orion School
“The Glidden brand recognizes the difficulty that some schools face in finding funds within their operating budget to do simple maintenance-related projects like painting,” said Rob Horton, vice president of marketing for Akzo Nobel Paints LLC, the makers of Glidden paint. “That’s where we can help. We want to find the one elementary school in most need of a complete makeover and help add color to the school and the lives of its students.”
A panel of judges selected the five semi-finalists on the basis of need, scope of project, potential impact on the student body, community engagement, and quality and creativity of entry. The winner will be notified on October 29 and the painting project is expected to occur by the end of the year.
