Mark E. Iorio Named Market Vice President for Humana’s Central West Region Medicare Division

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Veteran health care executive Mark E. Iorio has assumed the role of Market Vice President for Humana Inc.’s (NYSE: HUM) Medicare division in the Central West Region, which includes Colorado and New Mexico.

In this role, Iorio is responsible for operational oversight of Humana’s Medicare HMO and PPO health plans, Medicare prescription drug plans, Medicare supplement policies, and private fee-for-service health plans offered to people eligible for Medicare in the Central West Region. Humana has approximately 100,000 Medicare members in the Central West Region.

Iorio has almost three decades of experience in the health care field. Since 1996, he has served in a variety of executive positions with health care companies in Colorado, most recently as vice president of Market Expansion in Colorado for Kaiser Permanente Foundation Health Plan. He previously was the chief executive officer and executive vice president of Colorado Springs Health Partners from 1999 to 2007 and also served as the vice president of operations and chief operating officer.

Iorio holds a master’s degree in health services administration from Sage College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the State University of New York. He also participated in an Executive Leadership Program at the Harvard University Business School.
