Fisher Nuts Donates $27,000 to Chicago Cubs and White Sox Charities in “Freshness You Can Win” Corporate-Giving Campaign

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chicago-based Fisher® Nuts announced today that it has donated $27,000 to the Chicago Cubs and White Sox Team Charities to conclude its “Freshness You Can Win” campaign. Every time the Cubs and White Sox won on the same day during the 2012 baseball season, Fisher Nuts donated $500 to each team’s charity.

The two teams won 27 times on the same day during the 2012 season, resulting in a $13,500 donation to each organization’s charity. Fisher Nuts formally presented checks to Chicago White Sox Charities during a White Sox home game on Sept. 27 and Chicago Cubs Charities during a Cubs home game on Oct. 1.

In addition to the donation to the teams’ charities, Fisher Nuts and JEWEL-OSCO also gave fans the opportunity to win prizes. One grand prize winner was awarded a party for 20 at Wrigley Field and another grand prize winner was awarded a party for 20 in a Diamond Suite at U.S. Cellular Field. Both grand prize packages included game tickets and a special meet-and-greet with the teams’ respective managers. Fisher Nuts also awarded 50 free-product coupons, redeemable at participating JEWEL-OSCO stores, every time the Cubs or White Sox won during the 2012 season.
