HOUSTON--()--The Compaq Alumni Group announced the Compaq 30th Anniversary Reunion, to be held Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston.
This November 4th marks the 30th Anniversary of the introduction of the company’s groundbreaking first product, the Compaq Portable Computer, and public announcement of the company name, Compaq Computer Corporation. In a period of historic successes, Houston-based Compaq went on to set numerous sales growth records and to become the worldwide leader of the personal computer industry.
The Compaq 30th Anniversary Reunion event is open to all former employees of Compaq and a guest or spouse. To attend, they simply need to register for event attendance at the Compaq Alumni Group website, www.compaqalumnigroup.com.
The Reunion event will take place from 1 PM to 5 PM and will include a “company meeting” for the attendees hosted by Rod Canion, co-founder and former CEO of Compaq. His comments will include a short preview of a book he is writing about Compaq that is near completion.
Other Reunion plans include Compaq founders Rod Canion, Jim Harris, and Bill Murto attending to welcome Reunion participants, as well as a unique opportunity to reconnect and mingle with many Compaq friends and coworkers. A wide assortment of food and beverage will be available, as well as free parking in the Minute Maid Park parking facilities.
