The two day event focuses on the leading processors and related technologies for networking and communications applications, and brings together the top designers from global tier-1 OEMs.)--Netronome, the leading developer of
“Their insight on architectural requirements for processors designed to support these applications will be valuable information for our attendees.”
Netronome’s Senior Director of Product Management Daniel Proch will be featured in a session on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 1:30 p.m. His presentation will outline common ways in which OEMs are using flow processors in their cyber security and software-defined networking product designs. Proch’s presentation will discuss why flow processing is pervasive and describe techniques to partition workloads across general-purpose, network, security and flow processing cores in order to achieve line rate throughput for millions of simultaneous flows. The presentation features specific design examples for use cases including OpenFlow, Open vSwitch, network analytics, IDS/IPS, and next-generation firewalls.
“Today, the complex demands of intelligent networking, security applications, and the need to statefully process millions of flows are driving cache-based general purpose processors beyond their limits,” said Proch. “Purpose-built flow-aware processors are able to meet these challenges by offering packet, flow and security processing across an immense number of flows at 200 Gbps.”
“Netronome is a leader in flow processing solutions and will describe why this technology is paramount in the cloud, data center, for switching and routing, as well as security applications,” said Joseph Byrne, an analyst with The Linley Group. “Their insight on architectural requirements for processors designed to support these applications will be valuable information for our attendees.”
