NEW YORK--()--NERA Economic Consulting Vice President Dr. Sharon Brown-Hruska has been appointed to the Panel of Recognised International Market Experts (PRIME) as a finance expert.
PRIME was established in January 2012 to compliment judicial systems in the settlement of disputes involving complex financial transactions. PRIME’s goal of increasing the visibility of and access to dispute resolution in global financial markets relies on the collective wisdom and experience of an international panel of over 80 financial and judicial experts. As a key member of PRIME, Dr. Brown-Hruska and her colleagues will function as arbitrators, mediators, and litigation experts.
Dr. Brown-Hruska, a Washington, DC-based member of NERA’s Securities and Finance Practice, is a leading expert in securities, derivatives, and risk management. She has provided consulting and expert testimony in regulatory investigations and enforcement cases and arbitrations. She has testified as an expert in arbitrations conducted by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and serves as an Arbitrator and industry expert in arbitrations conducted by the National Futures Association.
As part of her economics advisory work, Dr. Brown-Hruska provides consulting, analysis, and advisory services to various industries, associations, and entities regarding market design and the implications for credit and financial risk management. She is also an expert on financial markets and how changes in regulation, market structure, and information technology can affect measures of market quality (including liquidity, risk, and price efficiency).

Dr. Brown-Hruska has served as Commissioner (2002-2006) and Acting Chairman (2004-2005) of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
