Amy Rees Anderson Named 2012 BYU Entrepreneur of the Year by the University’s Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology

Rollins Center Honored Anderson at the BYU Founders Banquet During Entrepreneurship Week

Anderson Recently Founded REES Capital to Give Guidance and Support to Entrepreneurs and Business Executives; Led MediConnect Global to more than $377 Million Acquisition

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amy Rees Anderson, managing partner and founder of mentor capital and angel investment firm REES Capital, has been named the 2012 Brigham Young University Entrepreneur of the Year by the Rollins Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.

Anderson is the first woman to receive this honor, which recognizes an individual’s business acumen and accomplishments and is selected by the Rollins Center Founders Board before being approved by the Marriott School of Management. The award was given on Oct. 4, 2012 at the BYU Founders Banquet during the university’s Entrepreneurship Week.

“Amy personifies our aim to recognize successful entrepreneurs who demonstrate exceptional leadership and high moral and ethical standards,” said Scott R. Earlier this month, Anderson launched REES Capital to provide entrepreneurs and business executives critical guidance and support to help their companies grow. In March 2012, Verisk Analytics acquired MediConnect for more than $377 million.
