WETHERBY, England--()--PROACTIS, a global Spend Control and eProcurement solution provider, today announced that Newham Council has selected PROACTIS Purchase-to-Pay. Newham will implement PROACTIS to support the purchasing needs of approximately 300 users across the council. All directorates and service areas will use the solution as part of the everyday activity of purchasing, procuring and paying for works, goods and services.
“PROACTIS will provide an integrated solution that governs the whole of the procurement and payment cycle”
PROACTIS Purchase-to-Pay will provide Newham with a single, centralised solution that integrates the councils purchasing and payment processes to ensure transparency and spend control of the entire lifecycle of transactions - requisitions and orders, authorisation and automated workflow, invoice processing and spend reporting.
Simon Dadswell, Marketing Director of PROACTIS said: "PROACTIS Purchase-to-Pay will help the council ensure that purchase decisions are aligned to its financial plans including the control of third party expenditure. At the same time, employees at all levels of the organisation will be able to request or buy goods and services and the need for increased financial rigour will not impact service delivery."
The Council will use PROACTIS Purchase-to-Pay to support its Procurement strategy for its £400m annual third party spend, ensuring that public money is spent wisely and that goods and services are procured in an open, efficient, and transparent way, enabling Newham to achieve value for money.
"PROACTIS will provide an integrated solution that governs the whole of the procurement and payment cycle," continued Dadswell. "The solution will allow the council to create rules to govern its buying decisions - these rules might include decisions about what items can be bought; how these items are bought; the supplier that particular item can be bought from; and the approvals needed before any order can be placed. Once these rules are set-up in PROACTIS Purchase-to-Pay, workflows will manage processes from requisition through to authorising the release of payments in the Council's finance system".
