BIOTONE Supports Council of Community Clinics in Fight Against Breast Cancer

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BIOTONE announces a donation of $5,000 to the Council of Community Clinics (CCC) to help fund diagnostics for breast cancer. The donation marks BIOTONE’s second contribution to the San Diego-based private nonprofit organization over the past two years to help in its fight against breast cancer.

The CCC provides centralized support services to 16 member community clinic and health center organizations operating nearly 100 sites in San Diego, Imperial and Riverside Counties in California. The CCC Community Clinic Breast Cancer Coordination Project aims to improve breast care to 7,000 low-income, ethnically-diverse, uninsured and underinsured community clinic patients throughout the three counties. Care Coordinators work with patients to assure they access breast care services, complete all needed follow-up appointments, get linked with specialists, and get their questions answered about treatment requirements.

BIOTONE’s donation will fund mammograms, biopsies and ultrasounds for women who cannot otherwise afford these services in an effort to detect the disease early to improve their health outcomes.
