WASHINGTON--()--Today, hundreds of state health policy leaders, administrators and experts from all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, will convene in Baltimore, Maryland, for the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) 25th Annual State Health Policy Conference. For three days, October 15-17, Medicaid, exchanges, essential health benefits, children’s health insurance, delivery system reform, public health, and more, will be among the topics of discussion. Freeman Hrabowski, President of The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), will be the opening keynote speaker at 4:00 pm today.
More than 600 conference attendees will hear from 120 speakers representing national and senior state officials. On Wednesday, Richard Gilfillan, Director of the CMS Innovation Center, and Andrew Webber, President/CEO of the National Business Coalition on Health, will lead a discussion about public private collaboration.
Among the state officials on the agenda are Bruce Greenstein, Louisiana Secretary of the Department of Health and Hospitals; William Hazel, Virginia Secretary of Health and Human Services; Joshua Sharfstein, Maryland Secretary, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; and Anya Rader-Wallack, Chair, Green Mountain Care Board, State of Vermont.
This year also marks NASHP’s 25th anniversary and at the conference Weil will give a retrospective of 25 years of state health policy. The NASHP conference will be held at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. Conference registration is required.
