CHICAGO--()--Custom fragrance development company Tru Fragrance today announced the release of Tru Blooms Chicago First Harvest Eau de Parfum, a first-of-its-kind limited edition perfume infused with the unique aromas of flowers grown throughout the city. This unique perfume is the product of Tru Blooms Chicago, a groundbreaking community initiative led by Chicago-based Tru Fragrance, in cooperation with the City of Chicago.
“It is with great pride that we celebrate this pioneering initiative in our hometown of Chicago, leveraging our expertise in custom fragrance development to create a perfume that embodies what we love about this great city.”
Over the past four months, Tru Blooms Chicago has transformed public and neighborhood green spaces citywide, including Grant Park, Chicago Botanic Garden and Water Tower Place, into growing spaces for roses, lavender and violets whose distinctive, fragrant notes have been captured in this limited edition perfume. Tru Blooms Chicago is the first-ever municipal initiative to locally “grow” a fine fragrance.
“Tru Blooms Chicago allowed us a unique opportunity to give back to the community that has nurtured the growth and success of our company for more than 40 years. Through this initiative, we were able to beautify the city’s public green spaces, support local nonprofits, and create and sustain jobs for Chicago residents,” said Monte Henige, CEO of Tru Fragrance. “It is with great pride that we celebrate this pioneering initiative in our hometown of Chicago, leveraging our expertise in custom fragrance development to create a perfume that embodies what we love about this great city.”
Like the flowers and gardens, which can never again be perfectly duplicated, Tru Blooms Chicago First Harvest Eau de Parfum is truly one-of-a-kind. The fragrance offers a bright and floral scent featuring beautiful notes of rose, lavender and violet at its heart. A limited quantity of bottles will be available for purchase, including 2,150 limited-edition etched 3.4 oz. bottles which retail for $65, as well as a 1.7 oz. bottle and .5 oz. roll-on, which retail for $38 and $18, respectively.
Tru Blooms Chicago First Harvest Eau de Parfum will be sold online and at select Chicago-area retail locations starting Oct. 15, just in time for holiday gift-giving, hostess presents and adding a special scent to any fragrance collection. Retailers include Water Tower Place, Chicago Botanic Garden, Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago History Museum, and a collection of premier Chicago hotels and boutiques.
