CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--()--AREA203 Digital presented a $100,000 check to the students and faculty of the Hamilton County STEM School at its Grand Opening celebration today. AREA203 has partnered with Hamilton County Schools on these initiatives as part of the company’s mission to support the continued growth of Chattanooga’s digital economy. The school’s lobby will be named in honor of local-entrepreneur and AREA203 founder, Carey V. Brown. Beginning with 75 freshman students this year, the school aims to enroll 300 students by 2017.

Ensuring Chattanooga has the best and the brightest means growing and nurturing them right here at home,” said Doug Freeman, president, AREA203 Digital. “We are a company built on technology, math and science. We believe in fostering those skills and interests in the next generation.”

Carey V. Brown is a Chattanooga entrepreneur and philanthropist who founded AREA203. Over the past 30 years, Brown has grown more than a dozen successful companies. He is committed to helping Chattanooga and global communities by donating a substantial portion of the profits from his companies and investments. He is also a founder and trustee of the Covenant Values Foundation.

Hamilton County’s
STEM School uses an integrated curricular education model with a
core focus on science, technology, engineering, mathematics and
medicine. The school has partnered with local colleges and regional
businesses to provide students with opportunities for an authentic and
relevant learning experience. The school is located on the campus of
Chattanooga State Community College, where students have access to the
college’s labs and facilities.
