SACRAMENTO, Calif.--()--Animal welfare, open space, park conservation & economic development groups in Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego will be hailing it as one of the most significant California land acquisitions in decades.
“We now have our best shot in a generation to protect all of Greilich Ranch’s beauty. With a sense of urgency, we are asking everyone to ‘circle your donation dollars’ around our first acquisition”
Greilich Ranch, the historic Amador County property nestled outside Sacramento boasts miles of breath-taking landscapes, meadows, peaks, forests, streams, lakes, history reminiscent of the American West and modern upgrades. It’s being purchased from home developer JTS Communities.
It will become the future home to the first Soggy Bottom Ranch (SBR), a national animal welfare nonprofit highlighted by their no kill, free spay & neuter, and free pet immunization programs and Dogland USA, a separately owned, low cost, green-driven, Mega-Agritainment park housed on companion property. Inspired by the power of philanthropy and preserving open space, Dogland USA will donate net royalties and profits after taxes to the Soggy Bottom Ranch Foundation for the purpose of supporting the daily work of Soggy Bottom Ranch.
“The day before our national launch, we are proud to pre-announce that Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego will be home to four sets of amazing community assets and generations of jobs on no less than 500 pristine acres each,” says Clay Elliott, SBR Foundation.
“We have a business model that will ease the public animal shelter and park closure stresses facing Sacramento, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and San Diego.”
However, entering escrow on Greilich Ranch based upon the terms of the agreement, hinges on the new nonprofit foundations ability to meet a $100,000 upfront deposit.
“We now have our best shot in a generation to protect all of Greilich Ranch’s beauty. With a sense of urgency, we are asking everyone to ‘circle your donation dollars’ around our first acquisition,” says Elliott.
