IRVINE, Calif.--()--Clothing designer David August & HEILBrice are partnering with the Los Angeles and New York City Rescue Mission for ‘Suited For Change,’ a program that provides deserving men gently worn business attire – and in turn, the confidence, pride and hope they need to re-enter the workforce.
“These suits are a symbol of the truly positive transformation they have experienced.”
“The Los Angeles Mission is so excited to partner with David August and the ‘Suited for Change’ campaign,” said Ivan Klassen, Director of Community Partnerships at Los Angeles Mission. “It is our goal at the L.A. Mission to truly deliver holistic change and these suits are one of the transforming pieces of the puzzle that is their newly changed life.”
“Having a suit that fits and looks sharp can help determine the success of our graduates,” stated Joe Little, NYC Rescue Mission Public Relations Manager. “We are so grateful to David August and HEILBrice for the role they are playing in getting these men back to their families and into a job.”
Hal Brice, CEO of HEILBrice, discovered on a recent outing to the Los Angeles Mission that lack of appropriate business attire has been one of the biggest challenges for the nearly 1,700 rehabilitated men looking to rejoin the workforce. Brice recognized the opportunity to reward the deserving, underprivileged men with high-quality business attire and called upon longtime client and clothing designer David August.
David August (Lifestyle Outfitters) is rallying its loyal clientele, partners and celebrity following to donate gently worn suits, shoes and accessories from their business wardrobes. Each donation will be graciously accepted by graduates of the Los Angeles and New York City Rescue Mission transition programs and used for job interviews and newly appointed positions in the workforce.
“David August is excited to play a part in changing the lives of these deserving men,” said David August Heil, CEO of David August, Inc. “These suits are a symbol of the truly positive transformation they have experienced.”
“David’s clients are men that know the power and confidence of a well-made suit and the impression it has on those around you. These are men that understand that the right clothes can open doors and make a memorable first impression. We knew they would want to share that with men in need,” said Brice.
With the help of HEILBrice, David August’s showroom is suited up with informational pocket cards - placed directly in every suit - a reminder to clients that they can inspire a powerful future and make a difference in the lives of deserving men. As an additional reward, donors will receive 10% off (up to $500) on their next David August suit.
A David August suit exudes confidence, dignity and sharp professionalism – a powerful combination and promising asset for men in the recovery process from addiction, abuse and homelessness. Can a suit change a life? We think so.
