SMC is expanding its gateway product platform with the introduction of the 5 Series. Featuring 8X4 DOCSIS 3.0 channel configurations with 3X3 Dual Band Dual Concurrent Wi-Fi and MoCA 1.1, the 5 Series will also significantly boost Wi-Fi performance across consumers’ homes. The 5 Series will be available for customer trials in the 4th quarter of this year.
In addition to the 5 Series launch this year, SMC will lead the market with 6 Series gateway products in 2013 featuring 16X4 DOCSIS 3.0 channel configuration and 3X3 Dual Band Dual Concurrent Wi-Fi. Explains SMC’s CEO Alex Kim, “The 6 Series will offer MoCA 2.0 as well as provide ubiquitous coverage and faster throughput across the entire home.
