WASHINGTON--()--Nuix, worldwide provider of eDiscovery, electronic investigation and information governance technology and RSD, a provider of enterprise information governance solutions, today announced a partnership that has seen Nuix technology integrated into the RSD GLASS 3 platform. This will enable organizations to apply full records management policies to unstructured data stored in file shares and other document repositories.
“For many reasons, employees often do not comply with records management policies; they store important documents in unmanaged systems such as file shares and other document repositories”
“For many reasons, employees often do not comply with records management policies; they store important documents in unmanaged systems such as file shares and other document repositories,” said Gareth Meatyard, Nuix’s Director of Information Governance Solutions. “This means records management systems must be able to automatically locate and apply policies to this content wherever people keep it.
“With Nuix’s powerful searching and analysis capabilities integrated into RSD GLASS 3, organizations can discover valuable information stored in file shares and manage it under the same policies that govern the rest of their content.”
Nuix technology can search and monitor file shares for documents that match criteria indicating they may be company records. Nuix extracts important metadata such as names, dates and contracting parties from each document, then funnels these documents into RSD GLASS 3 for records managers to evaluate.
Records managers then have the option of leaving the content wherever it resides or importing it into a records repository of their choice. With either option, RSD GLASS 3 enforces relevant policies against it.
“RSD and Nuix combined give organizations complete oversight of their content infrastructure,” said Meatyard. “We are now working together to give customers the equivalent capabilities to govern content in archives and collaboration systems such as Microsoft SharePoint.”
Tamir Sigal, Vice President of Marketing at RSD added, “The new capabilities provided as a result of our partnership with Nuix provide organizations with an end-to-end governance solution across all their information assets, regardless of where it is stored. Companies now discover what content they have, evaluate it and then if necessary, govern it according to corporate policies defined in RSD GLASS. The partnership gives executives the confidence of bringing unstructured environments under the corporate governance umbrella.”
